With only one game left this season, and our safety in the Blue Square Premier secured a couple of weeks ago, Ebbsfleet United’s return to the top level of English non-league football has been pretty successful on the pitch.
With one of the lowest playing budgets in the BSP Liam has worked wonders to not only survive but to compete with teams on over 3 or 4 times our budget. To say it has been tough financially off the pitch to fund what is a very modest playing budget would be an understatement.
Our attentions now must turn to achieving the same and hopefully better in the coming 2012 / 13 season. While money doesn’t always bring success, it seems certain that lack of money with almost certainly bring failure. Playing at a level where year on year teams are spending more and more to chase the dream of English League Football, just to stand still we must push to find extra funding.
With this in mind we are re-launching last year’s successful fund, which saw Fans and Members raise over £26,000 directly towards the Playing Budget.
The new website will be regularly updated with the latest running totals as well as news from the playing squad. Anyone who sponsors a player, coach or the full squad will received update emails as the season progresses.
Over the past week or so Liam Daish has been discussing a new contract with the Club Board. Although of course nothing is decided and it is up to our fantastic Team Manager to decide to sign, we very much hope we can bring you some good news soon.
Once the manager’s contract situation is resolved then it is up to him to secure the players he wishes to keep and or bring to the club. The aim of Sponsor Our Squad is to give our Team Manager the extra funds he needs to better this season’s achievements.
To allow things to get under-way before players are signed up for the new season, we have launched with Monthly and Single payment sponsorship options on either the Full Squad or on Liam and his coaching staff Paul and Ron.
Anyone who sponsors the Full Team now, can switch their sponsorship to their chosen player after they sign up by simply emailing the SoS Admin team at sos@myfootballclub.co.uk
