An exciting attacking midfield prospect, Tom Phipp graduated from local football and attracted the attentions of Arsenal where he spent five years in the youth ranks. At U18 level, he won and scored in the FA County Youth Cup Final with Kent in 2010, having finished as a losing finalist in 2009.

Having joined the Fleet’s PASE youth set-up, Tom signed a first-team contract in the summer of 2010. Although touted as one for the future, nobody quite expected the impact he made in Fleet’s 2010-11 promotion season as he quickly established himself as first-choice in midfield, going on to play almost 50 times in his debut season and scoring 12 goals, including two spectacular long-range strikes in quick succession against Dorchester.

A tireless runner and hard worker, with another 36 appearances in The Fleets return season to the Blue Square Premier, Tom further showed he is a young player with much promise in his future career.
